Taylors Eye Witness Twin Blade Barlow Pocket Knife - Amboyna burr scales & Worked back
This knife has 2 classic mirror-polished stainless steel clip-point blades. The Barlow was originally designed as a simple but practical everyday knife, this version is fitted with a beautiful, genuine Amboyna burr handle, which feels fantastic in use. Amboyna comes from padauk trees (Pterocarpus spp.) of Southeast Asia. Padauk trees are quite common but burl wood is rare.
Thought to have been first manufactured in Sheffield in the 1680s, the Barlow knife has a long bolster, an elongated oval handle, and one or two blades. It is said to have been named after its inventor. In spite of its British origins, the Barlow knife has been very popular in the USA since the early nineteenth century and was mentioned in Mark Twain's Tom Sawyer.
Taylors Eye Witness have manufactured traditional pocket knives in their Sheffield factory for over 150 years. The high quality, well designed cutting tools are supplied with a lifetime guarantee.
