Founded in 2007 by genius designer and master craftsman Makoto Kawai and his wife Yoshimi, The Superior Labor are all about outstanding design, high quality materials and an unparalleled attention to detail.

These processes are carried out in a beautifully renovated schoolhouse by a small team of highly dedicated craftsmen who work with a pride that is typical of Japanese craftsmanship.

The result is a range of 100% hand-crafted bags and accessories which are not only beautiful but also extremely practical and durable, fully justifying the Superior Labor motto: “ We take pride in craftsmanship and never skimp on time and effort. ”

TSL designs are inspired by the “American Golden Age”, with a healthy dose of Japanese simplicity and practicality. These bags and accessories are made to last using traditional methods (unlike most other manufacturers), a true luxury in our age of mass-produced poor quality goods.
